 Dear Artist Singh-

Last week I came across an article about your X the ArtPrize Treasure Hunt. I was intrigued by the thought of this puzzle and your message. What I wasn't prepared for was your section on your Captivity installation.

While reading this section in the book I came across Rape of Oprah Winfrey. I am a male and when I was in about 3rd grade I was molested over a period of time by a male cousin as well as a neighbor boy (not at the same time). I knew what was happening was considered wrong, but the odd thing was that I liked the way it made me feel. I know this isn't usually the case at all, so maybe I was lucky. Not sure what it was that made me like it. At first I felt captive to it, but then as time went on I found it captivating.

Fast forward and as I grew up I realized I was gay. While I like to believe that homosexuality is biological, I have always wondered if those incidents as a child somehow played a part in my homosexuality. So now as a grown man, I am back to being held captive by what happened.

Thank you for the interesting insight and different way of thinking about what happened to me.

Artist SinGh your book is great!! I love the way you think I learned a lot. Thank you!
